About me:
..
Name:
Jeff Lombardo aka jL / Street Smart With A Little Book Sense.
Born:
December 31st, 1981 in Brooklyn, NY
Occupation:
A lot of people have been sending me messages asking what exactly it is that I do, so I thought I would elaborate.
In its simplest terms: Im a digital artist / graphic designer / artist for the entertainment industry in both New York and Los Angeles. I'm also a ticket broker, and also part time investor. I specialize in the music, club, adult, television, movie, video game, and fashion industry. Ex: Walt Disney Pictures, NBC, Universal Studios, Def Jam, Hustler, Penthouse, Spike TV, VH1, MGM, etc. In other words, Ive created album covers for some of your favorite recording artists, Ive designed movie posters for some of your favorite movies. Ive made some of your favorite women look even more beautiful then they already are on the covers of magazines, and adult movies. Ive designed some of your favorite video game box covers, and Ive also designed billboards above highways, on buses and train stations all over the world for your favorite TV shows.
Recently Ive expanded into event planning and promoting in Hollywood and beyond. We currently throw some of, if not THE best special event parties Hollywood has to offer (no bullsh!t). You never know who youll see at our events. People that have come to our events in the past include Fat Joe, Brandi, Jim Jones, Nelly, Murphy Lee, Jazzy Pha, Tony Yayo, Petey Pablo, Reggie Bush, Lebron James, JaRule, Irv Gotti, Freeway, Chad Johnson, R.Kelly, Alex Thomas, Kenyon Martin, Tim Thomas, Los Angeles Clippers, Lakers, San Diego Chargers, Vida Guerrea, and so on.
Outside of the design and promotion game, Ive been fortunate enough to travel 42 states (39 of them 5x) and counting, selling merchandise that Ive designed on the road at sporting events, concerts, and other special events around the country. Ive met people of every age, race, color, and perdiciment there is. Traveling this country has been the highlight of my life. Its been such an eye opening experience for me and its kept me grounded with reality beyond anything else. I have an understanding about humanity and culture in this world and I respect everyone equally because of it. I have a big heart, and Im a very passionate and driven person, and regardless of who or what you see in the pictures on my page, I didnt have it easy getting to where I am today. I'm often misunderstood and that's ok with me. Ive lived in 8 cities in the past 7 years. At one point in life I was a runaway. (I air my sh!t out because I keep it real. I dont hold any punches. I dont think Im better than anyone and this is who I am. Theres no shame in my game. This is what Jeff Lombardo is all about. Jeff Lombardo wouldnt be Jeff Lombardo without these real life stories. I dont sugar coat my life. I may live in Hollywood, but Ill never turn Hollywood. If Hollywood wants to buy my story...then thats a different story. Your on my page reading what I have to say, so how bad could I possibly be doing if your interested?) Back to the story, I had no money, no car, no job, signed out of school, had no furniture or food in my apartment, living 1500 miles away from home by myself, physically, emotionally and mentally sick. Thats when I hit rockbottom. Thats also when I became a man. I vowed not to let my problem become bigger than me. The rest is history. They say you have to pay the cost to be the boss...and now I write my own checks. Jackpot. Ive made something out of nothin. I did the impossible, then did it twice.
Im the willing, led by the unknowing, doing the impossible for the ungrateful. I have done so much, for so long, with so little, I'm known and qualified to do anything with nothing.
On the weekends you can catch me at almost every big event in the country from Superbowls, All Star Weekends, Memorial Day Weekends, March Maddness, Spring Breaks, Music Conferences, Concerts, Pro Bowls, NBA Finals, World Series, Stanley Cups, Nascar Races, you name it, Im there. I follow the action. When there's no action, I make my own action. I strive on adrenaline. With every bit of knowledge Ive racked up in the past 25 years, Im now involved in many side projects that will be available to the public shortly.
Remember to build your dreams before someone hires you to build theirs. Get out there and be somebody! Stay positive, and stay focused. Create your job around the lifestyle you want to live, don't create your lifestyle around the job you have. This is 2007. Its all about ownership and being a young entrepreneur. I respect everyone in this MySpace world doin what they do. There's a lot of go-gettas on this site and I applaud all of you. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the independent people in todays world because its not easy. We live in a fcuked up society ran by a fcuked up government and I give props to everyone tryin to make their one shot at life the absolute best they can make it. For everyone else...I hope you figure it all out before its too late. You must realize the world is yours. The faster you realize that, the better off you'll be. Everyone was brought into this world the same way as everyone else. We all leave the same way as everyone else. Why spend the time we have here like everyone else too? Life is nothing but a "dash". The only thing written on your tombstone is the year you were born and the year you die. In between that is the dash. ex: 1981-2007. Give your dash some meaning...because life is just as short as that little line. With that said, I welcome any positive, independent, strong minded, focused individual no matter what age, race or color to join my network. There's enough money for everyone out here. Let's get it!
Alot of people keep saying that the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer. Thats because you dont understand. You see its all just a game ladies and gentlemen, and the quality of your living depends entirely upon your ability to play the game, and I play the game.
If you want to be an entrepreneur, go get experience, because all college prepares you to do is be an employee.
A good education is an essential part to success. However, one must have a certain respect and admiration for those who have made their marks without the benefit of the traditional University education. The culture that we call street has given birth to some of the most successful and insightful people in the world. Many of us would not be here today were it not for the skills and knowledge we acquired and the dues we paid on the streets. There is no replacement for the street sense and instinct. There is no school tougher than the School of Hard Knocks.
I emphasize hard work, but it seems to be working smarter, not harder. A lot of the people on top right now arent the most talented, they are just the ones that work the hardest and politic the most.
Im not Picasso when it comes to this art thing. Im not Tom when it comes to this MySpace thing, and Im not Bradd Pitt when it comes to this Hollywood thing. To make up for that I focus on branding myself. I get more bang for my buck. I don't have to post a bulletin everyday to be popular, I dont have to drop a hot design everyday to stay relevant, and I don't have to be on your TV to be globally accepted. I wouldnt have it any other way because most of you have to stand in the mirror backwards because you cant even face yourself. Everybody hates dyin, but most people die hatin.
P.S - If you don't like what I have to say...youll get over it. And if you choose to make somethin of it, let's do it. Im not scared to express myself. Dont start no sh!t, there wont be no sh!t.
