STONE RIVER is an alternative hard rock band from Varazdin,Croatia. The early beginnings of the band started before late february 2007 when it was formed. Before we had some jam sessions in the basement but nothin' serious. Kezman & Ivankovic have had two project concerts in 2004/05 entitled "Maturanti Unplugged". The gigs were takin' place in Gimnet Club. This project band was a tribute to the Seattle scene of early 90's. Boorek and Ivanchich were playin' in DND band which was also a project band playin' covers and also had some live performances(Gimnet, Korzo, VTV). Our bass man, Ban is just simply a huge music fan who always jammed around and then one day finished our line-up. The band has many influences in rock, metal and blues music. So we can say that those 3 genres are the core of our music. We can say that heavy groovey drumming, hard distortion guitars, constant bass paths and angry baritone vocals are our trademark. In the May of 2007 we have recorded our first single in acoustic version. You can hear it here, it is called "Open Soul". At this time we're recording our first EP.
