Double Exposure

About Me

Get ready for the re-emergence of three time gold-record selling artists Double Exposure , as the group makes its way across America ,wowing audiences and proving that some things truly do just keep getting better and better . When Philly natives Jimmy Williams. Joe Harris, Charles Whittington, and Lenoard "Butch" Davis, all of whom had been singing together, off and on. since junior high school, formed the group back in 1973, they may not have predicted such success, but, to those closest to them, their magic was evident early on. "He [Jimmy]was perfect for the group", says tour manager Malcolm Jones, Salsoul Records apparently agreed, making Double Exposure the company's first vocal group and releasing their first hit. " Ten Percent", in 1976, thereby indelibly securing the group's place among the legends of the then newly emergent Philly Sound. While "Ten Percent" sucessfully climbed both Pop and R&B charts, it was a bona fide smash in clubs, earning the ..1 spot on the Disco Chart. The "Ten Percent" LP followed, with two more hit singles: "My Love is Free" and "Every Man". Also on the LP were a remake of The Four Tops'"Baby, I Need Your Lovin" and three strong ballads, "Give My Love Away", "Just Can't Say Hello" and "Pick Me", which not only demonstrated the groups versatility, but firmly established captivating lead singer JImmy Williams as a talent not to be taken lightly."Ten Percent", "My Love Is Free" and the "Ten Percent" LP all went gold launching what continues to be a very successful career for Double Exposure. A second LP, "Fourplay", would yield the popular R&B ballad, "Perfect Lover", and the third LP, "Locker Room", produced the monster hit, "I Got The Hots For You".Double Exposure's successes over the years have been numerous and enduring, national and international, the group has toured all over the world, establishing a vast and loyal fan base. Now, over thirty years after the release of the group's first hit single. Double Exposure is back, and, it seems, without having missed a step, once again performing to packed houses and eager audiences in a stunning live show of timeless music and endless appeal.Look for them in your town and witness something that, unfortunately, is rare today: exceptional performers, at their best, truly having fun on-stage.
