Lyn Cantrelle

Lyn Cantrelle was born on the Mississippi River delta southwest of New Orleans, Louisiana. (Yes there is land southwest of New Orleans!) She is the great, great, great granddaughter of Henry Schyler Thibodaux, once governor of Louisiana, who after leaving Canada during the Acadian expulsion, settled on Bayou Lafourche and the settlement was subsequently named "Thibodaux" after him. She was raised among graceful old plantation and moss filled oak trees. Her musical talent came to her from both sides of her family. Her maternal grandmother won many contests playing classical piano. Her paternal grandfather played banjo and guitar in his own band. In Lyn, the musical talent is more than a good ear and wonderful singing voice. In her music, her talent and wholehearted pleasure comes shining through and enhances your listening experience.Lyn and her husband, Stan, play in a local band in which she plays keyboard and does vocals. Stan is the drummer and also does vocals. Their band specializes in music from the '50's and '60's and entertains at local establishments, for special occasions, and dances. Along with the music from the band Lyn also enjoys music from other genre. She also particularly likes to sing country music.When asked how she felt about recording her first CD, she answered. with a catch in her voice, "It's a dream coming true." She began to realize her dream when a good friend, who recognized her talent, arranged an opportunity for her to record a song in a professional recording studio.
