In October of 2006 Turiya Mareya returned to her home base in Tijuana, Mexico after an extended tour in Europe, Canada and Alaska. She began The Tijuana Latin Jazz Project as a weekly series at The Casa De Los Suenos. It was there she met Alejandro Perales, one of Tijuana's greatest music artists. He first came into prominence with the group Ohtli which became on of Mexico's most popular bands. He invited Turiya to play keyboards with Tumba Barrera, a Reggae project and she performed and recorded with the band whose CD will be released in April. Turiya and Perales continued their musical collaboration and are currently booking a tour through Mexico and Europe beginning in October of 2007. The Tijuana Latin Jazz Project just finished recording and the tracks are being mastered and will be up soon with amazing new music.
