Heralding from Cornfield, Illin'-Noise, Degenerate Crust were the precursor to the midwest rapcore scene. Fusing metal & rap with lots of other genres (often for comic effect), D.C. was able to generate notoriety from coast-to-coast with their antics. Garnering attention from record labels without pursueing the hectic touring life. They were able to write and record over 100 songs from 1986 to 1991 before playing their last public performance in August 1991 at Chicago's infamous Club Dreamerz in a Metal Blade Showcase as part of the Midwest Music Conference.
Some songs are lost to the ages, but the existing tracks are being digitally restored from master tapes in Denver, CO where the man formally known as Dirk Dirt resides.

Bootlegs are rampant amongst their fans sometimes reedited with Jerky Boys cuts between each track. All their releases were on cassette.
The band members were all heavily involved in film & video production and placed a huge emphasis on DIY asthetics. They often skirted conventional wisdom and enjoyed the liberation of self-production, though unfortunately, the band was never able to obtain label status or distribution.
Currently, all the original members are either in hiding or have warrants for their arrest in multiple states and prefer to keep their true identities as tow truck operators secret from the general public.
But if you ask a few fifis from the middle of Illinois, they may tell you who the father of their children are.
