If it's Celtic - I'm there

About Me

40-something single woman in South Carolina. I work for a large car dealer group in the Charleston area. Moved here in early 2007 and I'm trying to learn as much about my new home town as I can. I'm working on my MBA. I'm also working on reducing my size. I'm also working on redacting the word "working" from my daily usage. So far, it's not working so good.

My Interests

Anything Celtic - music, festivals, art, books. I make bead and wire jewelry when I'm not working on my MBA or at work earning that ever popular yankee dollar.

I'd like to meet:

Looking for new friends, long term relationships. I buzz around Scottish and Irish Festivals and have been seen at a Renn Faire or two. I love all kinds of music - except for rap or really twangy country music. I'm a voracious reader, and really like the Diana Gabaldon series. I've been to an SCA event or two, but haven't found the time or the wherewithal to really plunge myself into the lifestyle. So, I'd like to meet you if: you like Gaelic Storm, the Rogues, Dougie MacLean, Jiggernaut, The Elders, Teada. You like to hang around places where stuffed scottie dogs and sheep, t-shirts that read "Who's your Paddy?", and men in kilts or pirate garb can be found. You're a man who likes to wear kilts. You like bagpipe music. You know what a bouzouki is. You watched "Titanic" for the Steerage Party scene. You drink Guinness, Harp or Chaucer's mead.

The Rogues; Gaelic Storm; Dougie MacLean; I just found out Clandestine is reformed -- WOOHOOO!!!!!!; Wicked Soundtrack; Rich Mullins; Michael W. Smith; Los Lonely Boys; Lady Antebellum

I want to start off by thanking the person who's car alarm went off at 4:45 a.m. today. The only morning I get to sleep until when I want, and I wake up because of some blaring beep beep beep beep. Ma...

george michael as inspiration? really??

Seriously, the last time I was inspired by George Michael, I was just out of college and Faith came out. And, coincidentally, it's a line from that title track that has been the inspiration of late. O...

Introspection and Procrastination

It happens every year around this time. I start thinking of Christmases past and wondering if memories are a true reflection of reality or if they're rose-colored interpretations. There's always so mu...

Nuts and Bolts and Other Connectors

I erased my last blog from the 11th. I had put in diary mode, and didn't realize it would be posted for everyone to see...I think it made me seem whiny, clingy, and desperate, and since I'm none of th...
