Composer and visual artist, born in Rome.
His father, a visual effect operator that worked with Joseph Nathanson in movies such as "La Ciociara" (V. De Sica) and "Marcia nuziale" (M. Ferreri), taught him photography and camera shooting techniques; since he was 8, he started realizing short cartoons and animated photo-collagés on 16mm film. When he was 16, he began working as special effects operator, camera assistant and stage photographer.
He studied piano and counterpoint with A. Albenga, then he studied composition with M. Cardi. In 1990 he frequented Ferienkurse fur Neue Musik following seminars by Iannis Xenakis, John Cage, Brian Ferneyhough. In 1986 he wrote his first chamber composition, for theatre drama "il pericolo della felicità" by Vita Accardi, followed by "No" (1987).
From 1989 he wrote pieces for many contemporary music festivals (Festival Internazionale della Musica Antica, Urbino - Progetto musica, Acquario romano - Latina Musica Oggi - Musica&Musica, Roma - Festival delle Colline, Prato). From 1994 he composed music for dance, first for Lucia Latour, then for the Alessandra Sini's company "Sistemi Dinamici", for whom he intensively collaborate until present days.
In 1995 he wrote the opera libretto "Nessuna Coincidenza", music by Mauro Cardi, commission by Accademia Filarmonica Romana, Teatro Olimpico of Rome.
He also wrote music for commercials, videos and films. In 1990 he realized the first ever commercial for Catholic Italian Church ("8 per mille" - Conferenza Episcopale Italiana - 1990); the film score "L'Ospite" by A. Colizzi (1999); corporate videos for Illy Caffè (1999-2004).
In 1999 he debuted as digital artist with a personal exhibition of prints and videos, then he realized many videos and installations for collective exhibitions (Futuro Gallery, Roma 1999 - Fuori Uso '99, Pescara - Pescheria di Pesaro 2000 - Temple Gallery of Rome 2001 - Flash Forward New York and San Francisco 2001/2002 - Biennale di Carrara 2003 - "Non ho paura del colore" Villa Piccolomini, Rome 2004). From 2004 he is involved in the production of his home-video-operas cycle called "Liberalize Freedom" (LF part I: genomics; part II: energy - performed at Short Theatre Festival, Teatro India, Rome - 2006/2007).
In 2006 the italian Discoteca di Stato added some SSS composition to the Archive.
In 2007 founded Reticolo Ensemble with Paolo Montin.
