The Hub Kings’ sound is a vibe-a-delic tapestry ranging in influences from bebop jazz and swanky lounge to the contemporary sounds of artists like Medeski, Martin, and Wood and The Greyboy Allstars. Taking cues from keyboard masters such as Jimmy Smith and Charles Earland, the Hub Kings generate a sound centered around the lush, smokey tone of the Hammond organ, as played by multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Tristram.
