About Me

Welcome and thanks for listening!
P.S. Feel free to drop a line and add me! :-) A note to all music makers...
I'm willing to work with anyone (especially in the Northern NJ area) who has vision, and a love of music. Also, I would love to front a band, or work with one. A Bit About Me
I was born and raised in the Lower East Side of Manhattan; I called it home for the first fifteen years of my life. The next eight years of my life were spent in Queens, until my family relocated to central New Jersey. I now reside in the highlands with my sweetheart and our guinea pigs.
Moving to Jersey was a huge change and an incredible blessing, and those hard times I once knew are just a reminder to be grateful for all that I have today.
In December 2003 I went vegetarian and in September 2004 I went vegan. And though I've always had a great respect and love of animals, I went vegan for my health.
I'm a former NY State EMT, currently certified in Massage Therapy, and a Holistic Health Counseling student. Health and healing are a calling I couldn't ignore, and so here I am, still adding on to my list of skills in that area.
Hobbies & Interests
I love singing, drawing, writing, painting, photography, and pyrography. A few of my interests & passions include history, mythology, anatomy, pathology, cooking, music, herbalism, animal welfare, Paganism, and most recently, video games. My favorite television shows are Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order Criminal Intent, Law & Order, CSI, Battlestar Galactica, Dexter, Heroes, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Carnivale, Rome and Good Eats.
Music
My love of music comes from my maternal and paternal grandmothers. Momma's mother loved singing and dancing, and some of my most vivid memories of her are of watching her in the kitchen by the window, listening to the radio and belting out tunes. My father was an artist, his mother was a song writer, and his father was an artist of sorts.
I took approximately 2.5 months of Choral classes at Henry Street Settlement at the age of 16. Otherwise, I have no formal music theory or vocal training.
I've been in various choirs and choruses from 1994 to 1997. I've been in a couple of bands; unfortunately none ever lasted more than several sessions for one excuse or another.
I began songwriting at the age of 11. I prefer to write my own songs and pieces, even when collaborating with other people. I have dabbled in guitar, piano, and clarinet (the only instrument for which I received any sort of instruction), but let's just say for a musician I make a great singer. :-P
