The Unarmed Project

TMA Presents.... The Unarmed Project(UP) is a young people’s task force that aims to raise awareness and promote anti-gun and knife crime messages in the U.K. Working in partnership with other organisations, principally ‘Mothers Against Guns’, our philosophy is to offer young people opportunities to succeed and gain recognition in positive ways as an alternative to becoming involved in crime. We aim to offer young people the opportunity to perform at our showcase events, feature on our mixtapes and DVDs as a deterrent from joining street gangs and getting involved in street crime. We will also offer a support network including a hotline for those affected by gun and knife crime. The hotline will offer support and advice to those who often find themselves without the opportunity to talk openly about such issues. The Unarmed Project will offer an array of opportunities for young people and will become a model for young people successfully working for and with each other.
