Brother Henry , a four-piece musical entourage of three brothers and a frère non de mère ©, is a musical phenomenon hailing from Nashville, Tennessee. As touring and recording sidemen they have contributed to artists such as Ben Folds, Tim McGraw, Indigo Girls, Cowboy Junkies, Guster, Sixpence None the Richer, Steve Earle and REM.
The genetics of the band allow for a vocal blend that listeners often compare to Crowded House or the Jayhawks. Supporting these fine vocals are a cello, guitar, mandolin, and a crack Hofnerian rhythm section. Brother Henry offers a sound that is refreshingly unique yet digestible as well as a dynamic performance that is filling up rooms across the Southeast. The song writing digs in deep, stemming from the noble exploits of parenting and day jobbing that extend to a relentless need to administer the ROCK. Brother Henry continues to build their base with great support in Nashville, Atlanta, Charlotte, Louisville, Winston Salem, Asheville and other locales in the Southeast.
"We all played music growing up, but individually quit to start families and try out other more reputable careers," David said. "Despite a genuine half-hearted attempt to move on, we never could flush the need to create and play music out of our veins. We're still in the game with a renewed vision and determination that arises from our experiences with family, work and love."
The Brothers released their first cd, "Come On, People" in the Spring of 2004. After a succesful regional tour and moderate airplay of the single, "Fly, If you Want To" the band capped their 2004 tour with a live album "Live At The Basement", recorded in Nashville. In early 2005, Brother Henry headed into the studio, emerging with their second studio release "Chasing Happiness." Two tracks feature guest keyboardist Chuck Leavell (Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers.) Ben Folds shot many of the photos on the cd with vintage cameras after Ned and David cut some tracks for Ben's Epic Records release, "Songs For Silverman."
Brother Henry is pleased to announce the release of their third studio cd, "Love Survives." "Over the last year, our songs have evolved. We've been stretching out some of the instrumental sections and playing a bit more. We wanted to bring some of that to the new cd." "Love Survives" is a snapshot of the musical and emotional state of the band over the last several months. "This was one of those cds that required us to hunker down. We are glad we did and we're very pleased with the results. We hope you will be too."
