Wendi & the Rhythm Rascals

About Me

Wendi after traveling the country on the Poetry Alive! ticket landed in Tryon, NC where she started finding musicians who gathered to jam. These included Reese Gray (monster ragtime piano player with Squirrel Nut Zippers, Asylum Street Spankers, and Firecracker Jazz Band to his credit), Dan Petrella (plectrum banjo player and maker from Detroit, MI who has traveled the world solo and played for years with the Sweet Violets, and Joanne Domka (trumpet player from Detroit who played with Dan and lured him down to our neck of the woods). Locally Wendi has run open mics and jam sessions at the Gallery Coffeehouse and Melrose Inn in Tryon to gather musicians together and she continues to join in the fun dancing, singing, & blowing her horn with some of her favorite musicians in the Western North Carolina region.
