CHAD MICHAEL MURRAY
as LUCAS SCOTT
A young actor whose performances have earned him praise from critics and audiences alike, Chad Michael Murray is currently starring as the lead on The CW's hit drama, “One Tree Hill,†as Lucas Scott, a brooding intellectual who is struggling to find his place in Tree Hill.
Murray can next be seen on the big screen in Irwin Winkler’s “Home of the Brave,†opposite Samuel L. Jackson, Jessica Biel and 50 Cent.
Previous television roles include playing the love interest for Katie Holmes' and Michelle Williams' characters on “Dawson's Creek,†and Alexis Bledel's over-confident classmate on “Gilmore Girls.â€
On the big screen Murray recently starred as the lead in Joel Silver's remake of “House Of Wax,†opposite Elisha Cuthbert. He starred as Prince Charming in Warner Bros' “A Cinderella Story,†opposite Hilary Duff and co-starred in Disney's critically acclaimed remake of “Freaky Friday,†opposite Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan.
Murray was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, where he also attended college on a scholarship. Murray is an anti-drug role model for kids and is active in charities for children and teens. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
JAMES LAFFERTY
as NATHAN SCOTT
James Lafferty returns for a fourth season in the hit drama, "One Tree Hill," as Nathan Scott, the favored son of Dan Scott (Paul Johansson) and half-brother to Lucas (Chad Michael Murray).
Born and raised in Hemet, California, Lafferty spent much of his childhood hanging out with friends and his younger brother, Stuart, taking acting classes and playing basketball, his two passions in life.
Lafferty successfully balanced a high school education and starting spot on his varsity basketball team with his burgeoning acting career, landing a starring role opposite Ron Pearlman in the independent feature "Boys on the Run."
The sitcom "Emeril" gave Lafferty his first series regular role as the son of Emeril's character. He followed that up with ESPN's "A Season on the Brink." Lafferty's role in the film was a prelude to his "One Tree Hill" role, since he was able to first showcase his basketball prowess in front of the cameras. Starring opposite Brian Dennehy, Lafferty played Steve Alford, the star player of the Indiana Hoosiers basketball team. He has also made guest appearances on "Once and Again," "Boston Public" and most recently, HBO's "Unscripted."
Currently living in Wilmington, North Carolina, Lafferty has been working on film projects set up through his production banner while continuing to film "One Tree Hill." He has hosted numerous charity basketball events for local organizations and schools in the Wilmington area. Lafferty has also lent his support to other charitable organizations recently, including Lamar Odom's Music Jam and The Pink Project. When he isn't working, Lafferty spends time with his friends and his dog Nino on his boat.
SOPHIA BUSH
as BROOKE DAVIS
Sophia Bush plays Brooke Davis, a feisty cheerleader and temptress in the hit drama “One Tree Hill.â€
Bush recently completed production on the feature “John Tucker Must Die,†with Jesse Metcalf, Brittany Snow and Ashanti, as well as the independent film “Stay Alive,†with Frankie Muniz and Samaire Armstrong.
Her first movie role was in the comedy “Van Wilder,†with Ryan Reynolds and Tara Reid. Bush played Sally, a freshman in college who harbored a huge crush on Reynolds’ character. She also appeared in HBO’s “Point of Origin,†with Ray Liotta and John Leguizamo, and the independent film “Learning Curves.†Bush was most recently seen in the feature film “Supercross,†co-starring Daryl Hannah and Robert Patrick.
Bush was featured in a three-episode arc in the drama “Nip/Tuck,†as a devious teenage bisexual. She also made a guest appearance on The WB’s “Sabrina The Teenage Witch,†as Sabrina’s arch rival.
Born and raised in Pasadena, California, Bush started her career on her high school theater stage. Having been crowned the Pasadena Rose Queen, Bush quickly attracted attention from Hollywood.
Bush is an avid scrap-booker. She enjoys photography, reading and spending time with her friends.
HILARIE BURTON
as PEYTON SAWYER
Hilarie Burton plays Peyton Sawyer, the fiercely independent, beautiful high school student on the hit drama "One Tree Hill."
Audiences are familiar with Hilarie Burton from her work as one of MTV's hottest VJs. With a presence in network and cable TV, radio and soon, the big screen, she is one of the hottest young stars of today.
Burton recently wrapped production on two thrillers: “Solstice,†set for a fall 2006 release, and “The List,†scheduled to be released in 2007. “The List†is centered around a sudden death tied to a list from the past, leading to unimaginable evil. Burton’s latest feature, “Our Very Own,†whose ensemble cast features Allison Janney, Jason Ritter and Cheryl Hines, was screened at the prestigious Sarasota Film Festival this year and was honored with a special “Outstanding Ensemble Acting†Award.
As a former host of "TRL," MTV's wildly popular request show, and various MTV specials, Burton interviewed the most talked-about people in entertainment, from Angelina Jolie to Britney Spears.
Born and raised in Loudoun County, Virginia, with her three brothers, Burton developed a passion for acting early in life. Shortly after moving to New York to pursue her dream, she landed the coveted job of VJ at MTV and her role on “One Tree Hill.â€
Burton resides in Wilmington, North Carolina, where "One Tree Hill" is being filmed.
BETHANY JOY GALEOTTI
as HALEY JAMES
Actress and musician Bethany Joy Galeotti (newly married) returns for a fourth season as Haley, the quintessential girl-next-door and best friend to Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray), on hit drama "One Tree Hill."
Galeotti began her theatre career at age 7 in Dallas, Texas, as a Munchkin in a local production of “The Wizard of Oz.†She went on to play Scout in “To Kill a Mockingbird,†Baby June in “Gypsy,†and appeared in a long string of other Dallas theatre productions. By the time she was 13, Galeotti moved with her family to New Jersey and had begun her transition from stage to screen through a series of national commercials (Eggo Waffles, Dr. Pepper and Buick, among others) and television pilots.
In her sophomore year of high school, Galeotti’s talent caught the eye of a casting director for Stephen King's feature “Thinner,†and she was hired to play Linda Halleck. In March of 1998, she landed a nine-episode stint on the daytime drama “Guiding Light,†as Reva Shayne's teenaged clone. Her performance as the spunky and vulnerable clone earned her raves from viewers and critics alike. In 1999, while still appearing on the show, she was cast as Rose Cronin in “Mary and Rhoda,†playing the daughter of Mary Tyler Moore's character in the TV movie based on the popular 1970s TV show. After two successful years on the soap opera, Galeotti headed to the West Coast and into prime time. She booked roles on “Felicity,†“Charmed,†“The Guardian,†the Weitz brothers comedy “Off Center,†“Maybe It's Me†and the pilot “Destiny†for Jerry Bruckheimer Productions. Later that year, she starred in the comedy “Bring It On, Again,†a sequel to the Universal feature “Bring It On.â€
Galeotti was vocally trained by the Director of The Brooklyn College of Opera. She still considers herself a “musical theatre baby†and her Los Angeles stage credits include working with director Garry Marshall and Carole King on a new musical and with director Arthur Allan Seidelman on a production of “The Outsiders.â€
The most recent development in Galeotti’s career is a recording contract with Sony/Epic Records. Her original music has been inspired mostly by artists such as Sheryl Crow, James Taylor, Fiona Apple and Billy Joel. Her album is expected to release in 2007.
Her hobbies include cooking, horseback riding, knitting, fashion and, of course, music.
LEE NORRIS as MOUTH MCFADDEN
Lee Norris returns for a fourth season to the hit drama, “One Tree Hill.â€
Familiar to audiences since the age of 9, Norris made his television debut in “The Torkelsons,†followed by “Almost Home†and “Boy Meets World,†where he quickly became a fan favorite as “Stuart Minkus.†Other appearances include “Touched By An Angel†and “Dawson’s Creek.â€
Norris’ film credits include Goldie Hawn’s directorial debut, “Hope,†and “The Journey of August King.†Norris recently wrapped production on the indie comedy “Surf School†and will next be seen in David Fincher’s crime thriller “Chronicles.â€
Norris is a graduate of Wake Forest University and currently resides in Wilmington, North Carolina, where “One Tree Hill†is filmed.
PAUL JOHANSSON
as DAN SCOTT
Multi-talented actor, writer and director Paul Johansson stars as Dan Scott, Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan’s (James Lafferty) father, who is struggling to recover from his latest attack and seemingly wants to put his family back together, in the hit drama “One Tree Hill.â€
Born and raised in Spokane, Washington, Johansson was an avid athlete like his father, a former NHL player. After playing with the Canadian National team and leading his University to the Canadian College Championship game, he began contemplating a professional career in basketball overseas. Johansson chose to close the door on his athletic career and instead set his sights on Hollywood.
Making his Hollywood debut on the soap opera “Santa Barbara,†he soon moved on to a succession of television roles in such shows as “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose,†“Beverly Hills, 90210,†“Lonesome Dove: The Series,†“Highlander: The Raven†and “Ed McBain’s 87th Precinct.†Johansson also made memorable guest appearances in “Dharma and Greg†and “The Drew Carey Show.†He also had a recurring role in “The District.â€
On the big screen, Johansson played Sally Field’s soap opera husband in the film “Soapdish.†His other movie credits include “When the Party’s Over,†“The Big Picture,†“She’s So Lovely,†“A Wilderness Station†and “Carnival of Souls.†Johansson can next be seen in “Alpha Dog,†opposite Bruce Willis and Sharon Stone.
As a filmmaker, Johansson wrote and directed the acclaimed 19-minute film short, “Conversations in Limbo,†which opened the Toronto Short Film Festival. This film was honored at the Nashville Independent Film Festival and ultimately acquired by the Sundance Film Channel.
Johansson was recently awarded two Emmys for the Showtime television film he wrote and directed, “The Incredible Mrs. Ritchie.†The film stars Gena Rowlands and James Caan and was produced by Nick Cassavetes.
Currently, Johansson lives in Los Angeles.
MOIRA KELLY as KAREN ROE
Moira Kelly, best known to television audiences from her role as Madeline Hampton in “The West Wing,†plays a struggling single mother in the hit drama “One Tree Hill.â€
Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Kelly studied music in high school and pursued a degree in drama at Marymount Manhattan College in New York. While performing in a senior-year theatrical showcase, she was spotted and soon after was signed by an agent.
She made her feature film debut in “The Boy Who Cried Bitch.†Her other noted film roles include “Billy Bathgate,†opposite Dustin Hoffman, “The Cutting Edge,†“Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me,†directed by David Lynch, “Chaplin,†with Robert Downey Jr. and director Sir Richard Attenborough, and “With Honors,†opposite Joe Pesci and Brendan Fraser.
Danneel Harris heats things up in Tree Hill as the town’s sexy new vixen Rachel on One Tree Hill.
Harris began her career as a model with such companies as Juicy Jeans. Harris is widely recognized from her role as 'Shannon McBain' in the daytime soap One Life to Live. She then jumped quickly onto Hollywood radar screen, landing recurring roles on "JAG" and "Joey."
Her other credits include What I Like About You and a guest appearance on Mad TV.
Harris was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, and was raised in the small town of Eunice, Louisiana. She is skilled in gymnastics and her musical talents include playing the piano and singing.
Known for his hefty portrayals of cops, military men and patriarchal figures on both television and film, Barry Corbin plays Coach Whitey Durham, the tough-minded but fair basketball coach on One Tree Hill. Corbin gained fame as Maurice Minnifield, former astronaut-turned-entrepreneur and all around big-shot, on the popular and critical favorite Northern Exposure.
Born and raised in Lamesa, Texas, Corbin attended Texas Technical University where he studied Drama. He moved to New York to pursue acting after spending two years with the Marine Corps. For nearly a decade, he starred in a string of stage productions before moving to Los Angeles. While writing plays for National Public Radio, he landed the role of Uncle Bob in the hit 1977 film Urban Cowboy, which launched his prolific career. Since that break, Corbin's well-known film roles have included War Games, Nothing in Common, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Who's Harry Crumb? Career Opportunities, Ghost Dad, Curdled, Solo and Inconvenienced. This summer, Corbin played the role of Sheriff Buster Watkins in the feature Molding Clay, directed by William Katt.
Corbin has starred on Broadway, off-Broadway and in regional theater in such roles as Henry in Henry V, Jud in Oklahoma!, Henry II in Beckett, Falstaff in The Merry Wives of Windsor and Macbeth, among others. Corbin also performs a one-man traveling show, which he co-wrote, called Charlie Goodnight's Last Night about the celebrated Texas cowboy.
Corbin currently shares a ranch with his daughter and three grandchildren in Fort Worth where they raise horses and cattle.
No stranger to television, Barbara Alyn Woods plays Deb Scott, Nathan’s (James Lafferty) mother, who must deal with an estranged son and a broken marriage, on the drama “One Tree Hill.â€
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Woods performed regularly at The Victory Gardens Theatre before moving to Los Angeles to pursue her film career.
On the big screen, Woods appeared in the feature film “Striptease,†with Demi Moore. Other film credits include “Circuitry Man,†“I Downloaded a Ghost,†“Frankie Starlight,†“The Waterdance,†with Eric Stoltz, and “Flesh and Bone,†with Dennis Quaid.
Woods is well-known for her role on the television series “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show,†where she played Diane Szalinski for three seasons. She has guest starred on numerous hit television shows including “American Dreams,†“Providence,†“Ally McBeal,†“Touched by an Angel,†“Murder She Wrote,†“Seinfeld,†“Star Trek: The Next Generation†and “Wings.†In addition, Woods was a recurring character on the award-winning show “Picket Fences†and “Dream On†and starred in the telepicture “House of Secrets and Lies.â€
Woods and her husband, assistant director John Lind, reside in Los Angeles and Wilmington, North Carolina with their three daughters.

The Beginning of One Tree Hill
One Tree Hill was started by Mark Schwahn, the executive producer and creator of One Tree Hill, and a group of producers and screenwriters who decided to come up with a show/movie with basketball, drama, and out-of-control teen parties. It was originally going to be called, "The Ravens" ,but then decided to change it to "One Tree Hill" for the name of the town and Tree Hill High. It was originally going to be a 2-hour movie, but decided it would be best as a TV series. The Pilot episode of One Tree Hill aired on September 23, 2003 on The WB. The show has always been shot in Willmington, North Carolina at well known local homes, The Bridge, the baskebtall court[created by the One Tree Hill crew], and "Tree Hill High", home of the ravens; that many fans go and visit. Now at the end of its 4th season, One Tree Hill has become a nationwide phenomenon.
