Olayimika Sosimi performing soloist known as "Dodoyi" was born on April 16 1983 in a town in Nigeria. I am from a Yoruba tribe, one of the three largest tribes in Nigeria. As the second youngest child in a large family, family values and religion were very important to me. My family and I were very religious. I grew up in the church and was raised with deep religious values. I also loved music and began drumming at an early age. At times my love of secular music would clash with my love for religion music. On many occasions I was flogged for going against parental wishes by sneaking off to attend secular musical performances, one of wish was called ‘Fugi’ praise, boasting type of music. I came to the U.S to pursue a degree in Kinesiology and took many performing arts courses. I plan to combine my love of music with my love of religion one day. But being a practical person, I have also decided to pursue an advanced degree in physical therapy because fame and fortune is not guaranteed as a performing artist. Currently I work two jobs, one as a group home counselor and also as a FedEx delivery personal. I attend San Jose state University as a full time as well. In between my hectic schedule I manage to write new material for my upcoming album and I had been seen in local clubs, performing. When asked how I would like to impact the world, I answer with confidence, "I know God will use me to do something great."
