I work in the field of audio/video event consulting and facilitation, and moonlight as a budding film/video editor with a keen ear towards audio (and a latent desire to be a producer of music). I've played the drums for many moons and have a decent affinity for the jazz-related drumming techniques, and a fair amount of youthful experience playing the rock-ier, punk-ier styles... I also mess about with the piano: classical lessons from age 6 to 13, then ensuing midlife crisis leading to abandonment of all sheet music and sightreading abilities... spontaneous improvisation to follow... Also a film buff- my current favorite director is the great Claire Denis. Also love relative newcomer Lynne Ramsay ('Morvern Callar'), and many usual suspects such as Coen Brothers, Jarmusch, Lynch, Wenders, Terrence Malick, Brakhage, Maya Deren... more to be added soon...
