THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!
The ALTO CAYMA COMMUNITY consists of over 30,000 people who have migrated from rural Andes mountain villages to a more livable altitude & climate, & a closer proximity to urban amenities & employment opportunities. Many are women & children who have lost husbands & fathers to political violence & its poverty. Although close to the city of Arequipa, Alto Cayma is nearly 1,000 feet above it (approx. 9.000 ft.) & thus the basics - food, potable water, electricity, health services, education, paved roads & transportation - are at present out of reach for most people.
There is hope for improved conditions, but much work to be done. Your gift will support their initiatives.
