Remembering the Persecuted
The work of Christian Freedom International centers around the words of Hebrews 13:3: “Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.â€
CFI believes that all able Christians have a responsibility to assist others in the Body of Christ who are living under the burden of harassment, imprisonment, torture, and martyrdom. We strive to raise awareness of the crisis surrounding the persecuted church by mobilizing Western Christians in prayer, advocacy, and action.
CFI works in countries of intense persecution, where we have an established network of house churches, cell groups, and indigenous pastors. It is through these courageous Christians who willingly risk imprisonment or martyrdom that we are able to come to the aid of thousands of other suffering believers.
CFI’s projects assisting the persecuted church include microenterprise, establishment of schools and orphanages, and distribution of food, medicine, Bibles, and other relief supplies wherever it is needed.
Our Statement of Faith
Our statement of faith is the same as the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability's.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present rule as Head of the Church and in His personal return in power and glory.
Our Mission
The mission of Christian Freedom International is to help Christians who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ.
We are a nondenominational human rights organization providing aid, advocacy, and Bibles to Christians in areas of intense persecution.
Our mandate is to reach the part of the persecuted Church that is the most repressed, most cut off, and most isolated.
As a U.S. based, grass roots organization, we mobilize Christians in prayer, advocacy, and action on behalf of men, women, and children who are harassed, tortured, imprisoned, and martyred for their faith.
Christian Freedom International is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). Members of the ECFA are held to the highest standards of financial responsibility.
Christian Freedom International is an extremely efficient, low-overhead organization. We believe funds should go to our programs, not bureaucracy. In the United States we have only three full-time employees, several part-time employees, and numerous volunteers. Worldwide, seven persons are employed full-time in Thailand, Bangladesh, and Nepal, and we have a network of over 500 pastors and indigenous Christians in multiple areas of persecution to facilitate our mission.
CFI’s Work: Where do we work?
We Go to the Forgotten Places
Christian Freedom International is a U.S. based, nondenominational human rights organization that exists for one sole purpose: to assist Christians who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ.
It is our mission to provide relief aid and Bibles to repressed and isolated Christians in many countries throughout the world such as Burma, Bangladesh, Laos, Nepal, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam.
CFI also works actively in Washington DC, where we bring a voice on behalf of the persecuted church before Congress, the White House, the State Department, and the United Nations.
Through our political advocacy, we urge the United States government to:
Acknowledge and openly condemn the growing crisis of Christian persecution around the world;
Adopt and support policies that would effectively assist in reducing Christian persecution; and
Provide diligent assistance to victims of Christian persecution seeking refugee status.
CFI’s tireless persistence on Capitol Hill is helping to open the door for Burma’s persecuted refugees to resettle in America. After years of suffering in overcrowded refugee camps, hundreds of courageous Karen and Karenni Christians will finally experience long-awaited freedom.
Your prayerful support makes all the difference in our ongoing efforts to assist suffering brothers and sisters in Christ. Find out what you can do to help the persecuted church today.
