In 2006 I decided to try and fullfill an old dream : produce a tune with my musical heroes, that would sound as much as possible like "back in the days"... I was so happy with the result, which went way beyond what I could dream of, that I decided to make a whole serie on the same riddim. The riddim, recorded at Mixing Lab, has been called the "Shuttle riddim" by the musicians who had just recorded it. The very first artist I wanted to start my label with was Prince Alla. He is a very special person for me, and has always been one of my favourite singers. With the priceless help and input of Mr Harris "BB" Seaton, and also Mr Dwight Pinkney in Jamaica, two wonderful people as well as great artists,I could meet more jamaican legends, and work with them : Dennis Alcapone, Glen Adams, Stranger Cole, Johnny Osbourne,... And also rising talents like nigerian singer Ras Obi. I can also count on the help of a good friend of mine, Adrien Oesch, who spent countless night working on the dubs of the songs.So here are the first releases on the Soul of Anbessa label.
