Grieve are a tight 4 piece Metal band from huddersfield. Each member contributes their own style which brings together a united power forced into the ears of the listener!
They originally formed in high school under the name of Icarus. Icarus grew stronger playing various pubs as a covers/original band playing heavy rock, this made them tight as a group and gave them performance experience. Around 2 years later, after gaining a strong fan-base, they made the choice to leave the covers behind and become completely original.
With their minds set on constantly writing new material, they inevitably became heavier and classed themselves as a heavy metal band. The music came out as a more aggressive powerful sound but still kept the melodic flavours of which they used early on. With this new outlook, the band decided to change their name to Grieve.
As the members of the band became more experienced and mature, their sound did the same. Groovy riffs accompanied more focused and well thought out lyrics and the bands' energy and stage presence grew more and more powerful.
The best way to appreciate Grieve is when they're in their element, at a live show. Dont expect screamo, death or hardcore, this is straight up Metal.
