Several years ago my maternal grandmother let slip that my father had a daughter before he met my mother. I was in my 30's when I learned this, and I've been looking for my sister since. Her birth name was Lori Lea McElhininey, and she was born in Canada on May 18, 1959. Her parents were Earle Walter McElhinney and Shirley Mae McElhinney. According to my mother, Lori's mother asked my father to cut off contact with Lori, because she remarried and felt it would be best for Lori if she knew only her new father.
