PENTAGONIC

About Me

Now sadly defunct, the once mighty Pentagonic explored the limits of their own minds and expertise for the benefit - if not always appreciation- of their peers. These early harmonic fugues from the dawn of the millennium demonstrate their predeliction for deconstructing established conceptions of rhythm and melody for the purpose of creating a music existing entirely on its own terms. Chords materialse from the apparent maelstrom via non-linear methods of composing and recording (overdubs often coming first), building into masterpieces of subtle melody which insidiously work their way inside your brains to create a pleasantly out-of-time, and sometimes disturbing aural experience. Surprisingly the duo were a tight live band with a somewhat different flavour to their recorded output, and are now sorely missed. Elements of these rough diamonds can be found in some of their more recent and more accessible work (following the name change), which has earned them many plaudits. MyGen Profile Generator
