I'm Liv, (short for Olivia) and I'm a massive McFLY fan. I've been a fan ever since they started in 2004 and lucky me has been to see them live 5 times (twice when they supported Busted) and met them once (so far) lol. Add me if you love McFLY too! About McFLY Mania - The fansite.
McFLY Mania at Tripod opened on the 27th of January 2006 by myself, Liv. I have been a fan of McFLY ever since the band Busted first introduced them in late 2003/early 2004, but did not think to create a website of them till late 2005. Because i didn't know much on how to create my own website domain, I decided that a web host would be a suitable option. However, most of the best ones are ones you have to pay, and i was not ready to spend money on something I thought would only last a few months. Others had free accounts to offer, but were only 30 day trials. After loads of researching for finding a suitable web host I finally signed up on Tripod on the same day the site opened.
Starting off rather slowly, I created the first few main pages (News, Band Biography, Danny, Tom, Dougie and Harry). I then put the site up on Google, and a few days later, it became the top site when searching for McFLY. I set up my guestbook not long after, and got immediate response. However, there were problems with this as in 2006 I got quite a few nasty comments from McFLY haters. Although I immediately deleted these comments, I made the big mistake of going on one of these hater's sites (who put the site URL in my guestbook) and commenting back, saying that if they hate mcfly so much why bother going on a mcfly fansite and all that. It started quite a stir, and was replied back on theirs with even nastier comments. I decided that it was not worth it to argue back, especially online, and deleated the link to the site from my internet connection and forgot all about it.
Since then, I have not had one nasty comment, so I kept my guestbook. I have now had well over 40,000 visitors. On July 18th, I met McFLY at the One For The Radio signing in Truro, and I told Harry about my site - and to my utter excitement, he said he knew the site and has seen it! I remember speaking to Tom as well, but the signing went in such a blur I can't remember what he or I were saying lol. I'm afraid I don't have evidence to back that conversation up, so believe me or not.
