DCAD

A Creative Partnership of Pratt and the Corcoran

About Me

DCAD... Where Art Is.Welcome to the Delaware College of Art and Design, www.dcad.edu, the state's first and only professional art and design school! DCAD (pronounced DEE-CAD) offers a professional education in a student-centered environment that fosters personal attention. Our two-year Associate's Degree program enrolls full-time students in six majors: Animation, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design and Photography. DCAD is a creative partnership of two of America's most distinguished colleges -- Pratt Institute in New York City and the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, D.C. DCAD is the only higher learning institution in Delaware accredited by both the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). Students who successfully complete the Associate of Fine Arts Degree (AFA) can transfer as juniors to our partner schools, continue their education at other prestigious art and design colleges or enter the workforce. Tuition at DCAD is significantly lower than that of Pratt or the Corcoran, as well as most other independent colleges of art and design. Small classes provide for maximum student-teacher interaction in a stimulating learning environment. Convenient, spacious DCAD-sponsored apartments are available across the street from the college. DCAD's Continuing Education Program offers certificates in Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography and Web Design, as well as a variety of courses in graphic and web design, photography, fashion design, fine arts, interior design and jewelry design. The Delaware College of Art and Design is located about 25 minutes from Philadelphia, an hour from Baltimore and midway between New York and Washington, D.C. We participate in the Wilmington Art Loop, with frequent exhibits in the Toni & Stuart B. Young Gallery. For more information, call 302-622-8000, or visit our website at WWW.DCAD.EDU.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

1) High school or college-bound students with an interest in learning more about DCAD, attending an open house or filling out an application for enrollment. 2) Adult learners or students of any age interested in taking a Continuing Education class. 3) Graphic designers, illustrators, animators, photographers, fine artists, interior designers who want to get involved with DCAD and our students. 4) DCAD ALUMNI to speak at the college, to update us on their career and other information and help develop our new alumni association! 5) Employers in the art and design field looking for student interns or to hire DCAD students after they graduate. 6) Schools, businesses or non-profits to partner with DCAD on public art or community service projects.
