About Me

The Thieves Hymn is driven by a fire that burns in all four of them to express themselves. "A lot of people write songs they think other people want to hear. We wouldn't waste our time with that. We speak for ourselves and then let you be the judge of what you like", says Marcus Aurelius (Sax) The band arenot just musicians they’re also music lovers. In their collections are albums by anyone from Ravi Shankar to Motley Crue. They all have their faves though. Singer, Louise Ziazan is obsessed with the Police. While Drummer, Brandon Kapral, is a closet metal head. The other two (Marcus Aurelius and DH Bennett) love Hendrix with religious devotion. Bennett is particularly a rock dork. He once challenged Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins to a live "rock n' roll jepoady" match. It was called a draw. The band formed in late 2006. Making a name for themselves at San Franciscos Rockit room and Hotel Utah. After selling out their first EP they recorded their first LP at The Hangar studios, in Sacramento California. The studio is owned by Tape Op magazine publisher, John Baccigaluppi. “No Time for Doubt” also sold out and performed well online at itunes and Amazon muisc. The Thieves played several great rooms in San Francisco including: The Great American Music Hall, John Lee Hooker's Boom Boom Room, 12 Galaxies, and Edinburgh Castle . TTH was also a finalist in the San Francisco 2007 Emergenza music competition. They placed in the top ten of 300 local and regional bands. Then they relocated to the east coast, arriving in Ithaca New York. Over the spring and summer 08’ TTH played all of the area bars and venues along with regional festivals Ithaca fest and Musefest. The Thieves Hymn is in regular rotation on Cornell's WVBR and Ithaca College's WICB. The band has been a featured on air guest on both stations. These days the band is hybernating in their lair putting together new songs. The first of these new creations will surface this winter. More tracks with likely surface in the spring when the band returns to the stage. You can find band updates @ myspace, reverbnation, and facebook.
