The Delta Effect

Conceptualized in 2003. The Delta Effect are (in the studio) a two-piece outfit + engineer. They explore Classical, Blues, Jazz, Folk, and Electronic all within the boundaries of Rock. Half American and half Australian, their sound and influences span both East and West of the globe. Their sound is emotional, beautiful, and grand. Like a rock symphony or some kind of gorgeous cosmic event put into song.
Listen to their music and take a journey through the beautiful, the weird, and the familiar. Sometimes all at once...
Q: What does The Delta Effect mean?
A: S. is highly into Psychology and the mind. She has studied sleep and dreams rather intensively, from a scientific stand point. Delta sleep is the deepest level of sleep; we feel our music is dreamy and capable of taking the listener on a sonic and emotional journey. We chose this name due to our music's possible effect on the listener. Any other meaning is irrelevant to us (and I am aware there is an astronomical meaning as well.)

MESSAGE FROM THE BAND:
The demo you are listening to is definitely a stepping stone for us. Our direction has veered more towards a "Badly Done" or "Seconds To Countdown" approach, if you will; we just grew on that direction instead. The rockier songs like "Nowhere Eyes" or pop like "Waiting" are definitely behind us, as you will all see in our 2008 release "The Glass Swan." There will be a heavier classical influence and a wider range of instruments incorporated.
We have received great praise from both listeners and press from the above demo. It wasn't mastered, so excuse some of the raw aspects. "Waiting" reached # 33 on the Progressive Rock charts at Sound Click in 2005. Furthermore, we now have radio station rotation!
When the album is released, we already have a set path of distribution and plan to play a plethora of support shows.
