About Me

"Closer" was formed in January 2009. The members are Chad Bennett and Steven Chatman. For over five years Chad and Steven both from Tallahassee, Florida, had discussions about forming a gospel quartet, In November of 2008 Chad relocated back to Tallahassee from North Carolina. The two guys embarked on the journey of fulfilling their dreams of being gospel recording artist. Initially things were not working out like they expected. The delay did not discourage these artist, but initiated a vow to Christ from them both. The vow was to start a musical ministry, even if they were the only one to perform. That's when God started to move. The two men of God started producing songs for their debut album that is still in the works. Chad is a 15 year veteran in gospel quartet and choir performance. God has allowed him to perform in the same venues as many gospel greats such as:Keith Wonderboy Johnson, Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC's, Luther Barnes, and many others. Steven has been singing gospel music all his life. He has developed a distinct tenor voice that has been making a joyful noise unto the lord for a long time. He has co-produced every song on the debut album and is sure to make his mark in the gosel music movement. This page is for the sole purpose of getting our music out to the public to get a taste of what we are doing. We solicit your prayers as the Lord uses us in a mighty way.
