Omowale Cultural Society

The Omowale Cultural Society is a coalition of African affiliated artists, teachers, students, and performers commited to preserving and perpetuating traditional West African culture by providing quality entertainment and education to our local and national audiences in an effort to facilitate cultural enrichment and to foster a great understanding of and appreciation for African life; the rich standards and traditions of African music, dance, culture, and folklore. We are a community oriented organization, Detroit based, with headquarters in West Africa. We Produce, Promote and Preserve traditional African folklore. We are the Griots of African dance, music, and history. Our mission is to keep tradition alive and pass it on to the future generations.
