ROMA BARAN and VIVIAN STOLL are an award winning music production team based in New York City. They work out of their private recording studio, Two Tomatoes Studios in the East Village. Recent credits include Rosalie Sorrels "Strangers In Another Country, the Songs of Bruce Utah Phillips" (released August 2008; 2009 GRAMMY nomination for Best Traditional Folk Album); Annabelle Chvostek (formerly of The Wailin’ Jennys) "Resilience" (2008 CANADIAN FOLK MUSIC AWARDS nomination for Contemporary Album of the Year); Laurie Anderson "Big Science" (rerelease, 2007, new studio album "Homeland" in production); Penny Lang "Stone & Sand & Sea & Sky" (Best Contemporary Album, Best Solo Performance awards, 2006 CANADIAN FOLK MUSIC AWARDS); Rosalie Sorrels "My Last Go Round" (GRAMMY nomination for Best Traditional Folk Album, 2005); Bitch and the Exciting Conclusion "B+TEC=" (EP, 2008).ROMA BARAN, producer, engineer, musician, attorney, grew up in Montreal and in her early years played with Penny Lang, Kate & Anna McGarrigle and Bill Garrett. She has produced many albums, in the US, Canada and Europe. For 12 years, she produced most of Laurie Anderson's recorded work, from "O Superman" which shot to the top of the British pop charts, to GRAMMY-nominated "Strange Angels." In Canada, she produced a JUNO nominated Scott Merritt album for Duke Street Records, and has produced for Kate and Anna McGarrigle. She was nominated for an ACADEMY AWARD for Best Feature-Length Documentary for producing "Bernard Herrmann: Music for the Movies."VIVIAN STOLL is a producer, audio engineer, drummer and vibraphonist. She has performed and recorded with a diverse range of artists including Isis, Malvina Reynolds, Presents of Mind, and Unknown Gender. Recent engineering and production credits include work with Rosalie Sorrels, Laurie Anderson, Penny Lang, Annabelle Chvostek, Rebecca Coupe Franks, and Bitch and the Exciting Conclusion. She worked as a staff engineer for National Public Radio and mastering engineer for world music label Lyrichord Discs. As a sound designer, she has collaborated with performers such as the Split Britches Company, Peggy Shaw, Holly Hughes, and choreographer Jon Kinzel. She teaches Pro Tools and sound design and engineers and produces independent music projects.
