New Reality

New Reality is a punkrockband from Groningen that consists of four members. They got together in 2003 with the intention of making their own music. The members have quite a lot of band experience, having played in bands like Teenage Warning, Legal Axion and Herrneedle. The band plays modern punkrock with the “old school” feeling, and can be described as rough, tight and aggressive but also as melodic and exciting. (You can think of bands like Chaos UK, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat and Poison Idea). The songs are about personal experiences but sometimes they have a political side. All three members sing, so every song has it’s own voice. This way there is a lot of variety among the songs.
New Reality also has its own record label called “Teenangel Radical Recordings” and once in a while publishes music from bands both local and national. Recently, the compilation cd “Take it or leave it” was released featuring bands from Groningen. In 2009, another lp with Dutch punkbands will be released with the name “Mind your own fucking business volume 2”.
