>>>>>>>>>Get Code | Create Your Own!‘O Swap don’t embarrass yourself man’When you hear swap play it is hard to believe this was ever a reaction to his DJing. But in just 4 years this lad has come a long, long way. After having his first taste of DJing on his mates 1210s in his school lunch break swap didn’t have his own set up until his 21st birthday. And it was this point 4 years ago that was the start of something great.Born in India and having lived in Saudi Arabia for 9 years before moving to England SWAP is the first to admit his child hood influences weren’t quite what he plays today.‘The music scene in Saudi was pretty non-existent; you had your normal popular stuff like Madonna and Michael Jackson. But the only exposure to music I had was from Bollywood/Indian films. Oh and there was a lot of hip hop about too.’So how did he come from listening to Hip Hop and Bollywood to playing trance and Hard House?Well believe it or not it all started with being lent a Judge Jules CD at school. Prompting a new love of dance music swap went on to buy more CDs such as the Trancemasters compilation from ASDA, Clubbers Guide and the infamous Gatecrasher red, black and blue series. At Swaps first gig he played funk and electro at the Image Bar in Nottingham and although it went down pretty well it wasn’t until he started playing at a bar in Croydon that he realised his true Musical Calling was trance. After having his first big trance set at Fixation in the Venue in Long eaton (Nottigham) he started to establish his own loyal and strong fan base on DSI.Swap's own DSI group, Swap Shop, has played a massive part in his steady progression into the hearts of so many people. Set up as a place to broadcast his mixes he soon started putting up international mixes from lots of other sources and this soon got him a legendary status upon the group members. The group massively began to expand an in one week he managed to get 90-100 people sign up and the grand total now stands at over 600 in such a short space of time. It was this over night success story that catapulted him into the lime light and he is rapidly getting the attention his deserves. He currently draws his influence from DJs from all sorts of genres including legends such as Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, PVD, Roger Sanchez, Andy Farley, Lisa Lashes, Eddie Halliwell, The Scratch perverts, Above and beyond, Sander Van Doorn, Lee Haslam, Switch and Carl Cox (and many more) which leads to his own blend of trance and tech trance. He describes his style as:‘ a cross between Jon O’ Bir, Menno De Jong, Mark Sherry and Fred Baker. Because I like the melodic/uplifting and tech side of trance.’His DJ aspiration is to play at every superclub round the UK & the World, which is a good job since as this year is looking like its going to a big one for swap. Set to play at the Off the Rails pre party and at Passion in August things are really starting to heat up. Not to mention the sets he's already had at :-Fixation Audio Hedz Get Mashed Party. Tuition Sanxion InspireSwap is like any other 25 year old except he's managed to find something he loves and has been lucky enough to discover he's damn good at it.Keep an eye out for SWAP because he is heading for big things.http://www.dontstayin.com/groups/swap-shop
