The Tornadoes & Tyra Hammond

About Me

Take a members of the Opensouls, add some of the One Million Dollars, Solaa crew and you've got The Tornadoes... then let Tyra Hammond kick it home. Perfect.
First live shows were at The Rising Sun (thanks for the support 'One) and our limited edition vinyl releases have been picked up around the globe (thanks Nik & Dom for kickstarting that). And now we love it... and we're going to keep bringing the heat.
We're now working on some more material with plans to release an EP - vinyl, of course! Coming up...

3 Great 45s (FEB 2009)
1. Just Ain't Gonna Work Out / Mayer Hawthorne
This seems ot be polarising the hardcore soul fanboys and girls... but it's frikkin catchy... and nice to hear the 'Tramp' drums put to good use. AND... it comes on red heart-shaped vinyl.
2eart. Soul Man / Sweet Charles
Another cover version that just rips... especially when he drops into the "...gonna take your girlfriend.... give her good lovin'...." freestyle at the end.
3. Love (Your Pain Goes Deep) / Frankie Beverly
Maybe I've mentioned this before? Anyway... scored this after a long, long search... one of the very best deep soul tunes ever. Great drums, great lyrics, great singing, great strings.... great, great, great!
