She started her career in Atlanta at WHAT-FM as a Programming Assistant. A year later, she relocated to Washington, D.C. to attend Howard University. There she studied Communications and spun records at the college's radio station WHBC-FM. This job landed her a weekend show on urban radio station WKYS-FM 93.9. She soon returned to Atlanta, where she began an on-air partnership with Chris Love (Ludacris) and Poon Daddy on a weekday drive-time show called Future Flavas. With the success of this show, she decided to pursue her dream of moving to Los Angeles to become an entertainer in radio, music and on the screen. In the summer of 1999, La La joined L.A.'s KKBT 100.3 FM as the station's mid-day host. With her distinctive personality, honest on-air style and charisma, La La came in loud and clear and moved into the evening time slot along with co-host Eric Cubiche. The Beat's The B-Side has become the city's hottest Urban music show. La La quickly became the highest-rated urban female radio personality in the Los Angeles market.La La's love for rap and hip-hop began in her home, Crooklyn, and she plans on expanding beyond the VJ horizon. This beautiful Latina combines her "flava" with urban beats to make her own style of rap music and is currently recording her album. She has already been featured on: Nelly's "Hot in Herre," Cam'ron's "Oh Boy," Mowett's "Drop Top Bentley," and, Ray J's "Formal Invite" and appears, as well, in these music videos.On the big screen her beaming smile radiates, and her warmth draws in the audience's attention. Her film debut, Two Can Play That Game, starred Vivica A. Fox and Morris Chestnut. She is currently considering several other film opportunities.La La's television career is on the fast track as well. She shares hosting and DJ duties with Spike David, on the weekly half-hour music trivia game show On the Beat. Recently, this multi-media, talented woman began a new and exciting chapter in her career. La La is the co-host, along with DJ Clue, of MTV's Direct Effect and co-host of Total Request Live, in addition to hosting numerous MTV specials from Fashionably Loud Hip-Hop to MTV's Homecoming.La La attends many inner city events in and around Los Angeles and works on bringing a positive message to underprivileged youth. Her involvement will continue as she moves to the east coast and begins to travel throughout the country talking with young men and women who are trying to find their paths in life. Her message to them is to "stay focused in whatever you do?just pick one thing and stay focused to achieve that goal--no matter what that is, be a good citizen, stay crime and drug free--and make it happen."
