I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm a fairly mellow, strongly opinionated person. I work too much, but I consider myself lucky to have found an occupation that I am passionate about. I work in the nonprofit sector and like not being tied to the corporate world anymore, even though I could go back if I had to. I'm a single parent of two wonderful young children who challenge me daily to be a better person and not be so tightly wound. I'm interested in all kinds of things and enjoy having intelligent dialog with others who have opinions.
I am a veteran of the United States Marine Corps (III Marine Air Wing and III Marine Amphibious Force, 1983-1987).
I am an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation. I am Laguna/Zuni born for water flows together clan.
Here is a great YouTube video about Navajo Warriors (by Edgewateraz). My uncle, Chester Nez, is one of the Original 29 Code Talkers--Semper Fi, Uncle!
From THE CURSE OF CORTEZ by Roberto Rodriguez
A true warrior:
Respects all life as sacred and is guided by the Great Spirit or Creator;
Respects and loves himself/herself;
Respects and loves family, friends and community;
Respects and loves Mother Earth;
Fights for the betterment of humanity;
Fights against hatreds and injustices;
Fights for peace, dignity and justice.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'm not really interested right now in trying to locate the love of my life...been there, tried that, and failed miserably. I figure, these kinds of blessings come when least expected and recognized. I'm open for the experience.I'm more willing to converse with those who respect themselves enough to be truthful (especially behind the facade of the internet), considerate and generous with their word, be it spoken or written, because when it comes down to it, we are only as good as our word.

I'd also like to meet someone who can make me laugh! My life is too serious and I'm missing that high you get when you throw your head back, open your mouth wide, shut your eyes and LAUGH!

Future Friends: If you'd like to be my friend, send me a request. I'm not interested in those who want to spread spam all over my profile, so I do look at your profile before I accept. I also check to see if you are spreading spam elsewhere. If your profile is set to private and I don't personally know you, I won't approve your request. Sorry.
