Fresh Milk

About Me

FRESH MILK was the brainchild of Rob Heaton and Denny Austin and started out life as a regular jam/showcase event in Bradford where the whole session was professionally recorded live on a 16 track mixing desk. These events ran for a couple of years until Rob's untimely death in Nov 2004. Rob was passionate about new music in Bradford and was eager to use his experience and talent (drummer & writer for New Model Army for many years) to help his fellow local musicians put Bradford back on the map. He was a fountain of positive energy and drive. With so many projects left unfinished and plans uncompleted, the co-organisers of FRESH MILK wanted to make sure that his legacy lives on. And indeed it does.In April 2006, the FRESH MILK crew organised the first ever Bradford New Music Group Photo and spread the word for musicians and anyone else involved in the scene to congregate @ the bandstand in Lister Park to get snapped. The plan was really to bring all the different genres and areas of new music together to link up. Then the idea came to use the photo in a website where you'd 'click' on a face and be taken to a wee page with info and contact details on that person. Without funding, the website was slow to get off the ground but is now live! FRESH MILK are a Social Enterprise dedicated to supporting and championing New Music in Bradford and everything that comes with it. Keep an eye on this space for updates...
