Passion Street played many dates and self-promoted tours in the UK. Self-promoted mainly down to lack of tour support from the label, and for this reason the band were unable to reach their main audience worldwide where the majority of album sales were, and ultimately the bands full potential was compromised. Highlights included dates and tours with Peter Frampton, Toyah Wilcox and Aces High at many of the well known venues around the UK.
Musically reminiscent of Journey and John Parr the sound is Pure AOR and should appeal to fans of the genre. With the press of the time raving about the band, the future seemed bright but in 1997 the band was put on hold and the members went their separate ways. Half of the band including Rick Cartey went on to form Brave New World while Kris B and Alex Mahoney went on to form a record label with a rather large investment, and session and function work followed up to the present day.
The members of Passion Street are all involved in other musical projects at the present time, there's a Brave New World project happening whilst Pat Heath is working with Danny Vaughn (Tyketto/Vaughn) and teaches at BIMM in Brighton, Kris B plays regularly in session bands, teaches guitar and is a member of Pretty Tied Up, Rick C is a prolific songwriter and most recently has worked with Mike Corby (The Baby's), Stu Brown plays with popular Ska band "The Hotknives", Alex Mahoney works in TV production and Cris Jon Playle.....?... Well, being the enigmatic man of mystery that he is, we think he's an agent for the government or perhaps a double agent orchestrating a coup d'etat in the UK! as he's on first name terms with Tony Blair!
Passion Street are planning to reform later in 2007, with new album and live performances to be announced later.
