Coup Fourre

2001-2004

About Me

Formed at some point in 2001, under the moniker "Our Sound Is Your Signal To Explode", these three book-loving men took their turn in the post-punk grist mill of NYC, eventually calling themselves "Coup Fourre" after the famed card in the game Mille Bornes.
Having a French name seemed like a good idea at the time, and it definitely generated a certain level of entertainment for the band. Some fun mis-spellings include: Coupe Four, Cup Four, Coupe Foure, etc. Let's not even get into the mis-pronunciations!
At any rate, they played some great shows, and they played some terrible ones. They made some friends, and they lost some. They even managed to record some songs along the way. Eventually they realized that the true magic of any band is only found after they break up, so that's what they did in the early months of 2004.
Shortly after the break up, Adam went on to play bass for the lovely and talented Oxford Collapse . Andy began devoting his full attention to the happy hardcore stylings of Professor Murder , and Steve eventually ended up lending his big mouth to Blood City .
