Ending apartheid for one. Also slowing down the nuclear arms race, stopping terrorism and world hunger. Providing food and shelter for the homeless, opposing racial discrimination and promoting civil rights, while also promoting equal rights for women. "It was true that i didn't have much ambition, but there ought to be a place for people without ambition. I mean a better place that the one usually reserved. How in the hell could a man enjoy being awakened at 6:30am by an alarm clock, leap out of bed, dress, force-feed, shit, piss, brush teeth and hair, and fight traffic to get to a place where essentially you made lots of money for somebody else and were asked to be grateful for the opportunity to do so?"
"The song was called 'Los Angeles' and the words and images were so harsh that the song would reverberate in my mind for days. The images, I later found out, were personal and no-one I knew shared them. The images I had were of people being driven mad by living in the city. Images of parents who were so hungry and unfullfilled that they ate their own children. Images of people, teenagers my own age, looking up from the asphalt and being blinded by the sun."
