Dermot O’Reilly

I was born in London in 1964. My parents are from the west of Ireland. I moved up to Doncaster when I was 3 where I spent my childhood.I started listening to George Formby at age 5 got a ukulele at 6. I then remember listening to Elvis, Burl Ives "Wayfaring Stranger" and The Shadows records that my brother and dad owned, but when I got some money I bought Houses Of The Holy by Led Zeppelin, Ry Cooder's Bob Till You Drop and Communique by Dire Straits.I love song based music and all things guitar and piano in the context of a song, I don't really like guitar instrumentals unless it's Ry Cooder or Knopfler or that ilk. Long solos are ok until there not!I moved to Ireland in 1994 and lived there ever since. I'm now trying to put a few recordings together and maybe a few gigs after that.
