About Me

Watching me is having a look at riding bikes in a country where streets are dominated by cars though the eyes of Dutch director Regina van der Kloet.
Setting is the Californian Bay Area, an area that is known within the United States as being 'bike friendly'. Still the roughly 30 different people portrayed (from children and bike messengers to an older man) all have their own experiences with the dangers of riding down the busy streets of Oakland and San Francisco.
Black and white portraits of these people, their ideas on biking in 'the city' and colourful shots of the urban setting that is their playground are put to a lively soundtrack of catchy indie-rock, rhythmic electronica and passing cars in this fast paced and cheerful no-budget documentary.
