I'm a 59 year old bloke, born in Coventry in the U.K. and settled here in Melbourne, Australia, back in 1971. Yep, I must be one of the last "Ten Pound Poms" that came to Australia on the Government Assisted Passage Scheme. I moved to Australia courtesy of my guitar teacher, Sam. He and his wife and son emigrated some 2 years or so before me. We stayed in touch and I received lessons by mail until one day Sam suggested that I join them here in Australia. "We'll sponsor you", he said. "We'll put a roof over your head and give you a bed to sleep in". Now there's an offer too good to refuse! So here I am, ... never looked back! My dear friend and mentor, Sam, taught me everything I know about the guitar. He's gone to God now and I miss him, but thankfully he entrusted me to his guitars so his music and teaching lives on. I owe dear Sam an awful lot, not least a whole new life here in Australia, so I'd like to dedicate this "Myspace" page to him.
