BIOGRAPHY:
MIDLAND (aka Simon Revill) has been producing electronic music for the last few years. Whilst the music he is producing is labelled as melodic/euphoric trance, MIDLAND takes influence from many genres of music including classical, metal and progressive trance to name among others.
MIDLAND's interest in trance came from some classic sources such as Robert Miles' 'Children', Tiesto's 'Love Comes Again' and Armin Van Buuren's 'Sail'. He found Above & Beyond and the Anjunabeats label and quickly realised that trance music was where he belonged.
This pathway into the music business may be common amongst many producers however, for MIDLAND this was a dramatic change. MIDLAND has been studying at London's Guitar-X now for the last 3 years and is in his final year taking a degree in Popular Music, guitar being his first instrument. MIDLAND set out to London in hope of becoming a session guitarist and quickly realised that this was not for him and invested his spare time and money in equipment and a lot of research into production. Tracks like Inner Vision and North are the results of this investment so far.
MIDLAND is also half of a production duo with established DJ, ALexSense. They are currently working on new progressive trance tracks and their myspace page will be available soon.
