Dr. Yes!

Dr. Yes! first made his mark with the release of “X-Periments”, a sonic journey that has been likened to efforts from acts such as Air, Beck, The Flaming Lips and The Beta Band. The multi-instrumentalist has become a favorite on the Chico music scene with live performances that feature guest musicians and his band, The Soulgazers. In addition to the groovy vibes the doctor lays down with electric piano, synth and vocals, The Soulgazers showcase epic rock guitar from Sir Sanchor (Red Giant) and soul-shaking drums from El Mobad (Floss Anonymous, The Amblers). Armed with an arsenal of effects pedals, loopers, and vocal processors, Dr. Yes! and associates create music that has been described as an “engaging, funky, ethereal sound” and “hypnotizing and fun to watch” . The Soulgazers have recently released their debut CD "Live!..From Your Head". Engineered by Scott Barwick (Candy Apple, Joybook) at Origami Lounge, the album contrasts previous solo recordings with more of a raw and rawkin’ edge. Fans of the OTHER side of Dr. Yes! can expect another solo release later in the year with long-time collaborator The Treble Switch, complete with electro beats, sexy synths, and hi-fi wizardry!
