Boogiecitrus formed in '98, continued their creative activities in their bed room studio, in the year '00 Jan, decided to make a hand made CD-R including 11 songs titled "boogieCITRUS" in order to give out to friends and families. Their CDs have been very well received among musicians and press people already at that point. Growing crowd showing up at their live shows in Tokyo area showed their potential in their music career. While continuing their live dates, the band has re-recorded 6 songs that has become their Mini Debut Album "Dive Into...".
Some of the members grew up listening to Yellow Magic Orchestra, the legendary Japanese electro pop band in the 70s with Ryuichi Sakamoto/ Haruomi Hosono . (perhaps a little bit like craftwerk for us?) in recent years Stereolab/sonic youth has been their international influences. Not that they copy or cover what the above mentioned bands create. But simply like and listen to their music thus, has been influenced! The electronic pop essence goes well together with the grungy guitar and atmospheric vocal melodies.
