ICRIS (short for i Christian) is the artist and Crucified is the other 50%. Born in Muskegon, MI Icris is the unsigned artist making hip hop with a message and bringing back lyrics. The good Lord has blessed me to survive 2 drownings, 2 suicide attempts, several overdoses, 2 car accidents, being thrown from a motorcycle head first into the concrete parking block with no helmet, a near fatal parachuting accident and being stabbed in the heart and lung losing 2/3rds of all the blood in my body. I have been a drug dealer, a thief and have pulled guns on people with the intent on taking life.
I was diagnosed severe bipolar with personality disorder. It was not long ago that i was living to get high. I had a serious problem with drugs. One weekend I cleared out our bank account and went on a cocaine and alcohol bender where i was waving a shotgun around and cutting both my wrist. After a stint in rehab and with the help of my wife and the staff at Res. Life church Ionia. i have got my life on track. Its not perfect by any means but it is better with HIM than it ever was before.
I have been doing music for years. i started out doing hip hop with all the cussing drugs and abusing women i could fit into my lyrics. I soon grew tired of living the hip hop lifestyle so i tuned out and got hooked on X which grew into a cocaine addiction. After being set free and giving my life back to the Lord after that stint in rehab, the passion for music was revived inside me. I started work on "Stereotype" in 2006 and to date we have sold and distributed more than 1000 copies. Now in 2008 we give you our follow up "Christophany".
Today I find myself addicted to mounds bars,energy drinks, and the best espresso I can find. This ministry could not function without certain people. The support of my wife Kara for putting up with me. Pastor John p. for getting me to press in and keep working on character daily and just being a great man of God. Pastor Dan K. for recording the project on his own time and being a true man of God. Pastor John s. and all the wonderful women of God on staff at Res.
