Been around too long to remember .... But not around too long to regret.... Played in places I'm proud to remember.... Been on stages I'd rarther forget...............................I've loved the stage since I was knee high to a grasshopper, and in my case; that's a very long time! The one piece of advice I give to youngsters is "Nothing you can suck up your nose or jab in your arm can ever beat what an audience applause can do for you" I really beleive that.Where music is concerned I was brought up listening to Frank Sinatra and the Beatles but went my own way when I discovered soul. Country music came along when I took up the guitar and found that it kind of suited my voice which I confess disappointed me as I wanted to be a soul singer! It's only in later years that I've been able to sing an Otis Redding track with any conviction.... and now it's a little too late because that's no longer what I'm about. ........ Most of the songs that come out my head... or should that be heart? tend to be country in flavour but maybe you might think otherwise. If I write on piano then I get kind of pop/country/neil diamond kind of stuff. Writing on accoustic guitar will bring out the James Taylor / John Denver / Jim Croce / Don McLean influences in me.................On stage I sometimes fall into a comedy routine... I can't plan it, it just happens that way. Some folks might say that they prefer my comedy to my playing. Who am I to argue?..................As well as songwriting, I write poetry in all kinds of styles as the mood takes me. Poems and songs are the only window to my soul that seems to exist! My other writing takes the form of children's stories. I am in search of a sympathetic artist to do the illustrating and then hey presto I'll be in print as well as on CD. (So if that's you... get in touch)................Typical Librian I love beauty and harmony and balance and fairness. I try to find the good in everyone. That, I beleive keeps me generally happy..........I have two boys Liam 18 and Joshua 4. The loves of my life. Only a parent can understand such feelings that we have for or children. Liam is in a band called Base Detail, they have rather more hits on myspace than I, so I have some catching up to do!......................I have been rich and I have been poor. Now I'm somewhere in between. The one thing I learned about money looking back? It most certainly does not make you happy! It just makes you want more and more of it... like some kind of banned substance....................What do I want?.............Simply to be happy.
