Though guitarist Tommy Kessler was initially trained in Classical and Latin guitar, it was the influence of masters such as Randy Rhoads, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and Nuno Bettencourt that inspired his complete devotion to the guitar and to the development of his own unique style.
Since the start of his career, Tommy's worked in an extraordinarily wide variety of styles and professional settings. His extensive training and natural talent have given him the ability to learn new pieces very quickly, either by skimming written scores or memorizing compositions by ear. These abilities have resulted in a reputation for excellence that has led to Tommy becoming a highly sought after session guitarist in NYC since moving there in 2005.
But though Tommy is often found in studios throughout NYC and at Juell Records in OK, or on television and radio (most recently on ESPN and Sirius Satellite Radio), he's no stranger to the stage. His dynamic stage presence can be experienced around the country with the various bands he performs with, or in his home base of New York City, where he plays guitar, Zither, and Stick for the world-renowned Blue Man Group.
As a songwriter, producer and musician, Tommy's boundaries are limitless. His diversity and commitment to musical integrity, in everything from acoustic to an electric double neck, from classical to punk, has set him apart and established him as a musician of rare ability.
