the palms

We're a young and currently very dynamic and constructive four member band from Austria, existing since summer 2008.
When Max and Paul started jamming and recording stuff for fun back in 2005 they didn't know yet what destiny had planned for them...
After working together for around half a year they decided to be a band and call themselves "the palms". However, it would take them a long time and many attempts to form a proper band.
We tried out different singers and bass players, but they all wouldn't fit - it was a matter of chemistry or playing skill or style.
But eventually we met Robin in spring 2008 and very soon he joined the band, bringing along a lot of energetic bass playing that we had never enjoyed before. When we then met Max Klamm in summer 2008 it took us just one rehearsal to decide he was a good singer, the first REAL singer we had ever worked with, and another to welcome him in the band, which was now - finally - complete.
Using the little time we find, we've been writing new songs since then.
Soon after the beginning of the band we played a small show at a friend's party and another with some other bands from Krems, surprising and impressing the audience.
We took part in a band competition in May 2009, beating many bands from all over Lower Austria, winning as the first prize a small gig as support for Excuse Me Moses, Russkaja and Bauchklang, renowned Austrian bands.We promise that there are more freakingly rocking shows to come.
We're also recording our own demo "tapes", doing all the cutting, mixing, mastering and so on by ourselves, which we are very proud of.
However these tracks JUST DEMOS, so don't be too critical...
