The Pleasantville Killerz (a.k.a. The MasterMindz) is the hottest new hip-hop duo to hit the Northwest, and they are quickly taking the entire region by storm with their captivating sound and clever wordplay. Fans of all ages appreciate the true-to-life messages within the music, delivered over hard-hitting beats and combined with catchy melodies. An explosively high-energy stage performance has only added to their reputation, which already precedes the two rising stars.
Lyricists since the ages of 10 and 13, Sketchy Waze and Jesse James (born Andy Byrd and Jesse Garcia) independently released their self-titled debut album in May of 2009, and they have already distributed hundreds of copies, and performed in front of sold-out audiences across the Northwest for such big names as The Ying Yang Twins, Too Short, KyMani Marley, Warren G, Glasses Malone, Yukmouth, Cool Nutz, Brown Boy, Kilo, Andre Nickatina, DJ Unk and others. They have done work with producers from top labels such as Def Jam and Interscope, and their music has been featured on many podshows and has gotten rotation on several internet and northern college radio stations.
The two MCs have a determination and drive that shines as brightly as their talent. When they’re not following up with entertainment directors or networking online, they can be found on city street corners at local events and before their own shows, promoting their music and working hard to expand their fan base.
In such a short time, The Pleasantville Killerz have captured the hearts of countless fans and have single-handedly planted a seed in Idaho for an exciting new hip-hop culture. The duo is currently focusing on increasing their fan base with more shows, more networking, and more promotion across the western and mid-western regions. They have begun shopping their demo as well, trying to find a strong company with solid ties in the music business to aid with, and share in, their success.
