In the meanwhile working as a performer with susies haarlok and as a sound/theater technician on several loctions such as the Toneelschuur, Holland Festival, Van Gogh Museum.Lets talk music.I am an omnivore when it comes to music. As with food I do have some exceptions but I believe there is something interesting to look for in every genre. So my record collection contains Berio as well as italian folksongs and Gentle Giant as well as Beach Boys.
Electronic music is something that I focus on at them moment cause I feel there is an interesting future in this genre and a lot of things to be done. For instance: the laptop as an interface. One of my goals in making live elctronic music is trying to make the audience (not just the incrowd) understand whats going on in the computer. I try to avoid the typical laptopconcert with the guy bending over his screen looking really busy with something you cant put your finger on. Using for instance voice as an input for a Max/Msp patch I made or controlling sounds with contactmicrophones is a start in making an electronic performance more accessible. Max/Msp? Its a program which enables musicians to write their own software, such as a synhtesizer or sampler. Everything designed the way the musician wants it. In most stuff you hear or see here on this site a bit of Max/Msp was used. I only build my own patches now, but I am planning to build for other musicians in the future too. (and also in Supercollider...) Just mail me if you are interested in having one.Apart from some live elctronic stuff I have done some experiments and composing on the analog syntesizers in school such as the Arp2600 and the Roland 100m. Some of it is audible here.At the moment I am working on a piece for gamelan (indonesian percussion orchestra), which is really refreshing after a few months of bits and voltages. But maybe I will add some electronics in the end.05-04-2007

Description: a piece for voice and live electronic treatment. main inspiration for this piece are four non-western vocal techniques: the tuva/mongolian overtonesinging, bulgarian/moldavian female polyphony (such as the sisters bisserov), the inuit imitation games and the indonesian ketjak ritual. I build a max/msp-patch to make the suggestion of several voices instead of one. the patch also simulates some of the vocal techniques. nothing was prerecorded.Susies Haarlok Hoofd Weg

Soldaten (soldiers) was publiced in an art/literature-magazine called De Stijl, 1916. This movie contains three stills with my audio added. It was originally a 4 speaker piece. the mp3 quality is to low to enjoy this piece, cause its all about sound quality, but have a go anyway.
